A Waterloo man is facing charges after deputies say he assaulted a woman during an incident Monday night.
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies arrested 67-year-old Eugene Brothers on charges of attempted assault in the third degree, a Class B misdemeanor.
Investigators say Brothers shoved a woman to the ground with both hands and then kicked her in the ribcage, causing significant pain.
He was taken to the Seneca County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
