Auburn area residents will have a chance on Wednesday to approve the Seymour Library’s 2026 operating budget.
The library’s proposed operating budget comes in at $1,139,713, with $1,095,413 raised from a property tax levied against real property within the library district. This would be a slight increase over the current levy of $1,043,250.
The Seymour Public Library District consists of the City of Auburn, Town of Owasco, and the portions of Sennett and Fleming within the Auburn Enlarged City School District.
Additionally, voters in the Fleming portion of the district can vote for a trustee for the library, serving a four-year term. Sylvia Kott is the only person to have submitted a petition to appear on the ballot.
Voting will take place on Wednesday from 9:00a-7:30p at the library, located at 176-178 Genesee St, Auburn. For more information on the vote as well as what the library offers to the community, visit www.seymourlibrary.org or call 315-252-2571.
