A Rochester man will spend nearly two decades in prison for a shooting outside a Canandaigua bar that left a woman seriously injured. Leon McDaniel was sentenced to 17 years in state prison, along with five years of post-release supervision, after pleading guilty to first-degree assault.
The charges stem from a December 28 shooting outside Bubby’s Tavern on Phoenix Street, just off South Main Street in downtown Canandaigua. Prosecutors said McDaniel shot a woman during the incident, causing serious injuries.
He entered his guilty plea last month before receiving the sentence.
