A Rochester woman is facing charges after allegedly stealing from a business in Seneca County.
Sheriff Tim Thompson said deputies arrested 40-year-old Kristina Ciaccia Tuesday night in the town of Tyre. She is accused of stealing merchandise worth $16.34 from a local business.
When deputies tried to take her into custody, Ciaccia allegedly attempted to flee and resisted arrest.
She was taken to the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center and later released on an appearance ticket. Ciaccia is scheduled to answer the charges — petit larceny and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors — in Tyre Town Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
