Penn Yan Police have arrested 34-year-old Tyler Spoor of Penn Yan on multiple charges, including second-degree burglary and fourth-degree grand larceny, following a stolen vehicle investigation.
Police say Spoor allegedly entered a victim’s home, stole car keys, and then left with the victim’s vehicle. Officers later located him driving the stolen car on Linden Street in the village and took him into custody.
Further investigation revealed Spoor had allegedly taken the same vehicle without authorization on seven separate occasions. As a result, he was additionally charged with seven counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and seven counts of aggravated unlicensed operation.
At last word, Spoor was held at the Yates County Jail pending centralized arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation; the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
