The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office says one person was hurt in a two-vehicle crash Saturday night at the intersection of State Route 14 and the Exit 42 ramp of the New York State Thruway.
Deputies say the crash happened around 9 p.m. when a Ford Expedition driven by Daniel Decambra, of Naples, Florida, attempted to turn left onto the I-90 ramp and collided with a Hyundai Tucson driven by Douglas Bange, of Romulus, who was traveling south on Route 14.
A passenger in Decambra’s vehicle was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital by Phelps Ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. Decambra was cited for failure to yield while making a left turn.
New York State Police, Oaks Corners Fire Department, Phelps Ambulance, and North Seneca Ambulance all assisted at the scene.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation; the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
