A Steuben County man has been charged with attempted murder following the investigation into an incident that happened during a child custody exchange in the town of Bath.
According to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, 39-year-old Jason Christian, of Bath, allegedly fired multiple rifle rounds at another person, striking the victim’s vehicle, while they were inside their car. After turning himself in, Christian was charged with attempted murder, criminal use, and criminal possession of a firearm, all felonies, as well as misdemeanor menacing.
Following his arraignment, Christian was sent to Steuben County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation; the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
