A Livingston County man is facing charges in Ontario County following a Saturday traffic stop on State Route 332 in Farmington.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, Brian Matthews was initially pulled over for an obstructed license plate. Further investigation found that the passenger of the car had a court-ordered Stay Away Order of Protection against the 37-year-old Lima man. Matthews was subsequently charged with criminal contempt.
Following his arrest, Matthews was brought to the Ontario County Jail to await CAP arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
