Wisconsin Man Arrested in Seneca Falls in Connection to Child Abduction Case

SHARE NOW

The Town of Seneca Falls Police Department has arrested a Wisconsin man on felony charges following an ongoing investigation into the abduction of a juvenile from Onondaga County earlier this month.

Police say 26-year-old Brandon Szyszkiewicz, of South Milwaukee, lured a child from her home on September 12 after grooming her online. He then fled the area with the victim and traveled to Seneca Falls, where local officers located him exiting a hotel with the child. The juvenile was safely recovered and reunited with her family.

Szyszkiewicz was initially held at the Onondaga County Correctional Facility on related charges. On Thursday morning, Seneca Falls Police took custody of him and charged him with:

  • Five counts of Rape in the First Degree (Class B felonies)
  • One count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Class A misdemeanor)

He was arraigned in Seneca County Centralized Arraignment Part Court and remanded in lieu of $250,000 cash bail or a $500,000 insured bond. He is scheduled to appear again in Seneca Falls Town Court at a later date.

The case is being investigated jointly by the Seneca Falls Police Department, the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, and the Seneca County District Attorney’s Office. Authorities say the investigation remains active, and further information will be released as it becomes available.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
