The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Camillus teenager on multiple impaired driving charges following an incident in the Town of Brutus.
Deputies say 19-year-old Joseph Garrigan was taken into custody on the afternoon of September 18 after a deputy on patrol spotted a verbal altercation between two motorists on Jericho Road.
An investigation determined that Garrigan had been operating his vehicle while impaired by both alcohol and drugs. He was arrested and taken to the Sheriff’s Office, where he refused to submit to a chemical test.
Garrigan was charged with driving while intoxicated (first offense, misdemeanor), driving while ability impaired by combined drugs and alcohol (misdemeanor), and multiple vehicle and traffic violations.
He was arraigned at Centralized Arraignment and later released with a future court date in Brutus Town Court.
