The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says a Geneva woman was arrested on Route 31 in Arcadia after a traffic stop.
Deputies say 68-year-old Aunalisa Smith was pulled over for failing to dim her high beams. During the stop, deputies reported that Smith had bloodshot, glassy eyes, slow speech, and the odor of alcohol on her breath.
She was given field sobriety tests and later arrested for driving while intoxicated and driving while ability impaired. Deputies say she also refused a roadside breath screening.
Smith was taken to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, where a blood alcohol content of .07% was recorded. She was issued tickets and is scheduled to appear in Arcadia Town Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
