The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Sodus man following an investigation into a disturbance at Patton’s Market Place Grocery Store in the Village of Sodus.
Deputies say the incident began in early August when 53-year-old Gregory Faniel allegedly stole from the store. Investigators say Faniel later returned, causing a disturbance while armed with a knife, during which an employee was injured.
Faniel was arrested on Wednesday and charged with petit larceny, second-degree menacing, second-degree assault, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
He was processed at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and taken to the Wayne County Jail, where he is being held pending arraignment in CAP Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
