A Dundee man will serve 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to first-degree Criminal Sexual Act, a class B violent felony.
According to Yates County District Attorney Todd Casella, Ronald Chilson entered his guilty plea on September 2, resolving all charges against him. He is scheduled to be sentenced on October 22, receiving 10 years in a New York State Correctional Facility, 20 years of post-release supervision, SORA registration, and final orders of protection.
The case stems from an investigation that began in May 2023 after a child disclosed abuse during a forensic interview at the Child Advocacy Center. Two additional victims later came forward and testified before a grand jury, leading to indictments against Chilson. Casella said at the time, Chilson was operating a “therapeutic” foster home through Pathways, though no children had been placed with the Yates County Chilsons for over a decade.
Chilson was arrested by State Police last month for predatory sexual assault against a child under 13, a Class A felony.
