The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office has launched new technology aimed at improving community feedback. Starting this week, residents may receive a text message survey following certain calls, such as service responses, traffic incidents, or other interactions with deputies.
The survey is powered by My90, part of Axon — the same company that supplies the Sheriff’s Office with body cameras. Officials say the goal is to strengthen transparency, trust, and collaboration with the community.
“This initiative is about listening to our community,” said Sheriff David Cirencione. “We want to know what we’re doing well and where we can do better.”
Participation is voluntary, and feedback will be used to guide training and improve service quality. The Sheriff’s Office notes that the surveys are not a replacement for filing formal complaints. Those should continue through official channels, including the Sheriff’s Office website, the OntarioSheriffNY app, or by calling 911 in an emergency.
