The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office responded to a tractor accident on State Route 227 in Burdett at around 6:40 p.m. Friday.
Preliminary reports indicate the operator, who has not been identified, lost control while towing an overweight trailer, causing the tractor to roll over. The driver was ejected and airlifted to Robert Packer Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
New York State Police, Burdett Fire & Rescue, and Centralus Health Ambulance assisted at the scene. Family notification is pending.
