Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Hopewell man Saturday evening following two separate disturbances at the D&D Motel in the town of Canandaigua.
Deputies say they first responded to the motel around 6:34 p.m. on Sept. 13, where a man had been assaulted and suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The suspect, later identified as 27-year-old Justin Rodgers, fled the scene.
About an hour later, deputies were called back to the area for another disturbance. Rodgers was found at the neighboring Woodridge Motel, where he resisted arrest and injured a deputy during the struggle.
Rodgers was ultimately taken into custody and transported to the Ontario County Jail. He faces charges including assault, assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, and obstruction of governmental administration.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
