Tops Friendly Markets is teaming up with the Allen family this football season to bring farm-fresh melons — and community impact — to stores across Western New York.
Starting Sunday, participating Tops locations will carry Allen Family Farms cantaloupes and honeydew melons, displayed in the signature JA17 boxes. A portion of sales will benefit the Patricia Allen Fund at Oishei Children’s Hospital, which provides equipment, programs, and care for children and families.
The Allen family has been growing melons in California’s Central Valley for more than 30 years, building a legacy that continues today under the new JA17 label, honoring Buffalo’s star quarterback.
“The entire Allen family has been incredibly generous in supporting our children’s hospital since the Patricia Allen Fund was created in his grandmother’s honor,” said Dr. Stephen Turkovich, president of Oishei Children’s Hospital. “Donations like this help ensure we have the tools and programs needed for the kids we care for.”
Tops leaders say the partnership connects fresh, healthy food to a cause close to the community’s heart. Supplies are limited, and officials encourage customers to pick up melons while they last.
