Geneva General Hospital will take part in a countywide emergency drill on Wednesday at 9 a.m. The exercise will simulate a large-scale chemical exposure incident.
The drill is being conducted in partnership with Ontario County Emergency Management, F.F. Thompson Hospital, other local hospitals, the United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes, the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, and the New York State Department of Health.
Hospital officials say the public may notice additional emergency vehicles on the Geneva General campus during the exercise, but normal operations will not be affected.
“Successful emergency management in a hospital relies on comprehensive preparedness—including regular training, clear communication channels, resource availability, and coordinated response plans—to ensure patient safety and maintain critical operations during any crisis,” said Chad Hoffman-Fragale, Vice President of Human Resources and Emergency Management.
