Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 31-year-old Kayla Carney of Springwater on Tuesday following an investigation into a family-related incident in the Town of Hopewell.
Deputies say Carney was located near State Route 5 & 20 and County Road 47, where she was found to have intentionally damaged the front windshield of a 2004 Toyota Tundra by kicking it. She was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a class E felony.
Carney was transported to the Ontario County Jail and arraigned at CAP Court. She was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Hopewell Town Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
