The Yates County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of an Ohio man following a traffic stop on Prospect Avenue.
Deputies say they responded to a report of a man sitting on the side of the road and found 18-year-old Brady Ventura of Pickerington, Ohio, asleep in the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked on the roadway.
According to deputies, Ventura showed signs of intoxication and failed a series of field sobriety tests. He was taken into custody and transported to the Yates County Jail, where a chemical breath test confirmed his blood alcohol content was above the legal limit.
Ventura was charged with driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol under 21, and operating a vehicle with a BAC of .08% or higher. He was held for arraignment in Yates County CAP Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
