Portions of Route 54A to Close for DOT Work on Monday

SHARE NOW

The New York State Department of Transportation is warning drivers that a section of State Route 54A in the Town of Pulteney will be closed starting Monday at 6:30 a.m. The closure, between County Route 74 and County Route 32, is to allow for a retaining wall replacement project. Work is expected to be completed by the end of September.

Motorists are advised to follow the signed detour using Emergency Route “B,” which runs along County Routes 74, 78, 33, and 32. Drivers should anticipate travel delays and consider alternate routes if possible.

Construction schedules may change due to weather conditions. The DOT reminds drivers to slow down and drive safely in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in these areas, and multiple violations could lead to a suspension of a driver’s license.
