The Keuka College Field Hockey team opened its 2025 season on Wednesday with a 5-0 loss to SUNY Oneonta in a non-conference matchup at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.
Goalkeeper Khadeeja Reed (Webster, N.Y. / Webster Thomas) recorded eight saves for the Wolves, tying her career high.
The Red Dragons struck early, scoring five minutes into the first quarter to take the lead. Keuka generated a corner shortly after but was unable to capitalize. A shot attempt by Alexis McGregor (Liverpool, N.Y. / Liverpool) was blocked, and Oneonta carried a 1-0 advantage into the second quarter.
Oneonta doubled its lead on a penalty corner early in the second. Reed held strong against a flurry of shots midway through the frame, keeping the score 2-0 at halftime.
The visitors put the game out of reach in the third quarter, scoring three times—including two goals in quick succession—to build a 5-0 cushion. Keuka’s Alexis Dodge (Vernon Center, N.Y. / Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) had a late chance in the final minute, but her shot went just wide.
With the loss, the Wolves fell to 0-6 all-time against SUNY Oneonta and remain winless in season-opening games (0-10) in program history.
