Cayuga County Deputies arrested a Sempronius woman on August 26 after investigating a suspected impaired driver.
29-year-old Anne Bufford was stopped near Bear Swamp Road and Ridge Road around 9:49 p.m. Deputies determined she had driven her vehicle to the Sempronius Fire Department while under the influence. She was arrested at the scene for first-offense DWI, transported to the Public Safety Building for processing, and refused to provide a chemical sample.
Bufford was held at Cayuga County Jail for CAP court and later released to appear in Sempronius Town Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
