• Our series of slow-paced computer classes for total beginners, “Computers for the Technologically Illiterate” starts on September 4 (Thursdays from 2-3PM). There are eight sessions we’ll run through each session twice during the fall and early winter.
• On Friday, September 26th our Sci-Fi Book club is diving into The Deep, a book by Rivers Solomon. It’s an award-winning Afrofuturist novella that imagines a people living under the sea—descendants of African women thrown overboard during the transatlantic slave trade. The story explores memory, identity, and how communities decide what histories to carry forward. It’s moving, thought-provoking. It’s on Friday, September 26th from 5:00pm – 6:45pm. The book is available at GPL for checkout, or we can place a hold on it to have it sent here from one of our member libraries.
