The Keuka College Women’s Soccer team fell 5-0 to Lycoming College on Tuesday at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.

Sophomore goalkeeper Payton Malec (Canandaigua, N.Y. / Canandaigua Academy) made 14 saves in her first career appearance for the Wolves, keeping the score close in the opening half.

Lycoming struck early, scoring in the third minute off a corner kick that deflected off an attacker. Keuka had solid buildup throughout the first half, but the Warriors’ defense prevented the Wolves from connecting on scoring opportunities. Malec made two diving saves late in the half to preserve a 1-0 lead at the break.

The second half saw Lycoming score just 68 seconds after kickoff, again from a corner. The Warriors added a third goal 15 minutes later, followed by two more to secure the 5-0 victory.

Keuka finishes with three shots on goal, from Rilee Nunan (Buffalo, N.Y. / Hamburg), Delaney Goodenow (Rochester, N.Y. / Hilton), and Emma Sisson (Batavia, N.Y. / Notre Dame). The Wolves are now 0-2 on the season and 7-5-1 all-time against Lycoming, having lost five of their last five matchups with the Warriors.

Up Next: Keuka College travels for a weekend tournament at Fredonia State. The Wolves open against Oswego State on Friday, then face the host Blue Devils on Saturday
