Senior Hope Johnson led the William Smith cross country team at the season-opening Rodenbeck Invitational hosted by St. John Fisher this evening. She finished 22nd overall, 13th among Division III entries, in the 150-runner, 4-kilometer race.
Competing in the Rodenbeck for the third time in her collegiate career, she posted her fastest 4K time this year, stopping the clock at 15 minutes, 43.2 seconds. She clocked in more than 16 seconds faster than last season and over a minute faster than her 2022 time. Sophomores Bella Miller and Megan Ingraham also improved their times at 4K over 2024’s race. Miller logged a time of 17:01.8, a 1.4 second improvement, while Ingraham posted a time of 17:40.9, nearly two minutes faster than her first-year time.

TEAM EFFORT
William Smith was eighth in the 11-team field. Division I Buffalo took the team title with the Bulls finishing 1-2. UB senior Vassi Klock broke the course record with a winning time of 14:25.8.
