Mount Laurel Woman Charged with DWI After Varick Rollover Crash

SHARE NOW

A New Jersey woman was arrested in Seneca County after a rollover crash on Route 89 in the Town of Varick, according to Sheriff Tim Thompson.

Deputies say the crash happened around 7:15 p.m. on Friday. 27-year-old Leah Nichols, of Mount Laurel, was found to have been driving drunk when her vehicle left the roadway and struck a telephone pole.

Nichols’ blood alcohol content was measured at 0.16%, twice the legal limit, deputies said. No injuries were reported in the crash.

She was charged with misdemeanor DWI, along with traffic violations for failure to keep right and driving across hazard markings. Nichols was released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to return to Varick Town Court on September 23 at 7 p.m.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
