The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports that a Lyons man was arrested following an investigation into a domestic incident on August 27, 2025.
Mareese Wells was charged with third-degree assault after allegedly throwing a cell phone at a victim, striking her in the face and causing injury.
Wells was taken into custody and transported to the Wayne County Jail, where he will be held until he appears before a judge. He is scheduled to appear at Lyons Town Court at a later date for further proceedings.
The investigation is ongoing.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
