Cayuga County deputies have arrested a 40-year-old Port Byron man for violating an order of protection and related charges.
Sheriff Brian Schenck reports that on August 18, deputies responded to a Montezuma address after learning the victim was receiving text messages from Eric Vroman, in violation of a court-issued order of protection.
Following the investigation, Vroman was charged with Criminal Contempt 2nd, a misdemeanor, and Aggravated Family Offense, a felony, due to previous domestic violence convictions.
He was arraigned at Centralized Arraignment on August 21 and remanded, with a court appearance scheduled for Wednesday at 6:00 PM in Montezuma Town Court
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
