Cayuga County deputies have arrested a local man in connection with a theft at Lowe’s earlier this month.
According to Sheriff Brian Schenck, 38-year-old Joshua A. LaClair of Auburn, is charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor. Deputies say the investigation began after a reported theft at the Lowe’s store in the Town of Sennett on August 8, 2025.
Following the investigation, deputies obtained a warrant for LaClair’s arrest. He turned himself in on August 21, was arraigned at Centralized Arraignment, and released.
LaClair is scheduled to appear in Sennett Town Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
