Penn Yan Police have arrested a village man following an investigation into local drug sales.
63-year-old Daniel Bergstresser, of Penn Yan, was taken into custody on a Superior Court arrest warrant and charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, both class B felonies.
Investigators say Bergstresser is accused of selling crack cocaine in the village earlier this year. He was located by officers on Main Street and arrested without incident.
Bergstresser was arraigned in Yates County Superior Court and later released in accordance with New York State law.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
