Two Arrested in Canandaigua Narcotics Investigation

SHARE NOW

The Canandaigua Police Department reports the arrest of two men following a narcotics investigation in the city and surrounding areas.

Last Wednesday, 21-year-old Amarion McMahon of Geneva and 27-year-old Matthew Stanley of Red Creek were taken into custody. Police allege that during the arrests, McMahon and Stanley were found in possession of a large quantity of crack cocaine and a defaced, loaded 9mm handgun. Both men are considered predicate felons, and McMahon is currently on parole.

Both face charges, including third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

After processing, the two were held without bail following CAP arraignment. Authorities say additional felony charges are expected.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
