The New York State Police say a 62-year-old Locke man was arrested following a domestic dispute at a Pierce Road residence last Saturday.
Cayuga County 911 received an open-line call reporting threats involving a firearm and the possibility that the suspect might set fire to the home. Troopers arrived and found Michael Yaw and the victim seated in front of the residence.
During the investigation, authorities say Yaw made repeated threats to kill the victim and others while in possession of a shotgun and other objects. When troopers attempted to arrest him, Yaw reportedly resisted and ignored multiple commands before being taken into custody.
Yaw was transported to SP Auburn for processing and is currently lodged at the Cayuga County Jail for arraignment.
He faces multiple charges, including three counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, two counts of menacing in the second degree, one count of obstructing governmental administration, one count of resisting arrest, and two counts of harassment.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
