A Rochester woman was arrested after deputies say she was found driving a stolen vehicle at Eastview Mall.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports that 32-year-old Joy Gauson, of Rochester, was taken into custody on Wednesday after a license plate reader alert flagged a 2019 Chevrolet Trax reported stolen out of Monroe County.
Deputies say Gauson drove the vehicle onto mall property in the town of Victor, where she was stopped and arrested.
She was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to return to Victor Town Court at a later date to answer the charge.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
