A new business will soon open its doors in Weedsport.
Purple Banana, the village’s first smoothie and açaí shop, will hold a grand opening from 2:00-6:00p on Wednesday. The shop will be located at NüME Wellness and Recovery Centers, 8930 North Seneca Street.
Nico Giacolone, along with Luke Nicolette, is the co-owner of the smoothie shop. Speaking with Finger Lakes Daily News, Giacolone, a Weedsport native, said opening the business in his hometown was a way for him to give back to the community.
“[It’s] a give back to our community, something to help the community continue to grow… I am extremely excited.”
This is the second Purple Banana to open its doors. Nicolette is the owner of the original Purple Banana in Syracuse. Giacolone added that he hopes to expand the franchise throughout the area.
