Geneva firefighters were called to Copeland Avenue Wednesday night after reports of an electrical box fire.
Around 8:40 p.m., neighbors across the street noticed their lights flickering and heard a resident at 32 Copeland calling for help and a fire extinguisher. Several neighbors rushed over with extinguishers before fire crews arrived.
The C.J. Folger Hook & Ladder Company responded with a bucket truck, joined by the Nester Hose and Hydrant Hose companies, along with Geneva police. Water supply for the firefighting effort was established from a hydrant near the entrance to Wegmans, while an electrical bucket truck was also on standby.
No injuries were reported.
