Police say a woman has been arrested after a violent domestic incident on VanAnden Street early Wednesday morning.
The Auburn Police Department says officers responded around 2 a.m. and detained Angelina Burgdoff without incident. An investigation found she allegedly assaulted an elderly family member using several items in the home, including her hands, a cane, and a knife.
According to police, the victim was struck multiple times before being stabbed with a knife. Burgdoff also allegedly damaged the victim’s property during the altercation.
She is charged with felony assault, criminal possession of a weapon, menacing, and criminal mischief.
Burgdoff was taken to the Cayuga County Jail pending arraignment in CAP Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
