Delegates from more than 20 chapters of the Association of New York State Young Republican Clubs (NYSYR) gathered in Albany this past weekend for the group’s 2025 state convention, where they unanimously elected Bobby Walker of Albany County as Chairman.
Walker, who has served as Vice Chairman of the organization for the past four years, is the first person from the Albany County chapter to lead the Association in its 93-year history.
Currently, Walker works as Communications Coordinator for State Senate Republican Leader Rob Ortt. His political experience includes serving as president of the Otsego County Young Republicans, chair of the New York Federation of College Republicans, and holding campaign and communications roles for state lawmakers and Republican organizations.
During his tenure as Vice Chairman, NYSYR says it has launched more than a dozen new chapters, made 3.5 million voter contacts, and helped elect dozens of young Republicans to office across the state.
In remarks following his election, Walker said the group will focus on issues such as public safety, education, and the economy, while continuing efforts to expand outreach and grow Republican enrollment statewide.

Treasurer Elizabeth Ruh of New York County,
Recording Secretary DawnMarie Kuhn of Suffolk County,
