After discussions with state officials, Auburn’s City Council is set to decide next week how to use state Touring Route Program funding for road repairs. City Clerk Chuck Mason said the resolution up for a vote would authorize work on two roads.
“One is New York State Route 34, known as North Street, from the Seymour Street intersection out to the city line, about a mile-and-a-half stretch,” Mason said on Friday’s FLX Morning with Paul Szmal. “The other is Lake Avenue, from the Lake Avenue Bridge to the city’s southern line — also about a mile-and-a-half.”
If approved, repaving of North Street would be completed this construction season, before October. Work on Lake Avenue would begin at the start of the 2026 construction season.
