Authorities in Oswego County are investigating after a 17-year-old victim was shot during an altercation at a suspect’s home.
According to police, the victim went to the suspect’s residence, where a dispute broke out. During the incident, the 17-year-old suspect allegedly shot the victim in the buttock with a .22 caliber Ruger rifle. The victim fled the scene after being shot.
Police say the suspect has been cooperative, and a Temporary Extreme Risk Protection Order has been filed. The firearm has been secured.
No charges have been filed at this time, but potential charges are being reviewed with the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office.
The investigation is ongoing.
