Bath Woman Accused of Felony Assault After Hitting Person With Cane

SHARE NOW

A Bath woman was taken into custody in August following an alleged assault at a local hotel. According to police, 53-year-old Nikki Wright was arrested on Wednesday on a class D felony charge of second-degree assault.

The arrest stems from an incident reported on May 20 at the Finger Lakes Inn and Suites in Bath. Authorities say Wright struck the victim with her cane, causing injuries.

After an investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Wright. She was located during a traffic stop in August and taken into custody.

Wright was processed at the Bath Police Department before being transferred to the Steuben County Jail, where she is being held without bail.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
