The future of the Fishers Fire Department in Victor will be the focus of a special meeting early next week.
The Board of Fire Commissioners is considering dissolving the district, citing rising operational costs and higher taxes needed to keep it running. A vote on the issue was postponed in July after strong public opposition.
Many residents say public safety should outweigh financial concerns, and another large turnout is expected at Monday night’s meeting, which will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Victor Senior High School Auditorium.
