Finger Lakes Community Health (FLCH) has received a $3.5 million grant from the New York State Statewide Health Care Facility Transformation Program IV, paving the way for a new, state-of-the-art health center in Penn Yan.
The future facility will be located next to the Yates Community Center on North Main Street, replacing FLCH’s current location on Kimball Avenue. The expanded center will offer comprehensive medical, dental, behavioral health, and care management services for residents of Yates County and surrounding communities.
“We are thrilled to receive this significant investment in the health of our community,” said Mary Zelazny, CEO of FLCH. “This new and expanded facility will allow us to provide our staff and patients with the best health care experience in a modern, cutting-edge center. Furthermore, FLCH is excited to collaborate with the Yates Community Center to offer wellness programs designed to benefit the entire community.”
The project is currently in the design and engineering phase, with construction expected to begin in early 2026. The new facility is slated to open in early 2027 and will prioritize patient comfort, accessibility, and efficiency.
The grant is part of New York State’s broader initiative to modernize healthcare infrastructure, particularly in rural and underserved areas. The funding supports FLCH’s mission to improve access to high-quality healthcare for all residents in the region.
