A Geneva man is facing multiple charges following a reported string of vehicle break-ins in the Village of Dundee.
According to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, 39-year-old Edward Galvin III was arrested after deputies responded to a report of a man breaking into vehicles at the Quick Shoppe on Wednesday night. Deputies, assisted by the New York State Police, located the suspect near the Dundee School Bus Garage, where he attempted to flee on foot.
After a brief pursuit, Galvin was taken into custody and transported to the Yates County Jail for centralized arraignment. He was later held on bail.
Galvin faces the following charges:
- Petit Larceny
- Obstruction of Governmental Administration
- Criminal Possession of Stolen Property
- Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle
- Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle
- Operating an Uninspected Motor Vehicle
- Operating Without a License
No injuries were reported during the incident.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
