A Cayuga County man is facing charges after deputies say he fired paintballs at a home in Throop earlier this month.
Sheriff Brian Schenck said the incident happened around 3:05 a.m. on August 7 when deputies responded to a report of a vehicle shooting paintballs at a house on State Street Road.
Auburn Police located a vehicle matching the suspect description and followed it to an address in the city. Deputies say they found 21-year-old Chase Towers inside with a paintball gun and paintballs throughout the vehicle.
Towers was charged with third-degree criminal tampering, a misdemeanor, and released with an appearance ticket. He’s due in Throop Town Court on Tuesday.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
