Tompkins Cortland Community College (TC3) and Cornell University have signed a new articulation agreement that offers TC3 students a direct path to transfer into Cornell’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS).
The agreement, signed by TC3 President Amy Kremenek and CALS Dean Benjamin Houlton, creates a streamlined opportunity for TC3 graduates in the Sustainable Farming and Food Systems program to continue their education in Cornell’s Agricultural Sciences B.S. program.
“There is a strong legacy of collaboration between TC3 and Cornell,” said President Kremenek. “This agreement formalizes what we have always known to be true: that dream can be reality.”
To qualify, students must complete their associate degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA and earn a B or higher in all transfer-eligible courses. They will then receive priority consideration for admission to CALS, where they can build on their foundation in sustainable agriculture with advanced studies in areas like crop and soil sciences, animal science, agricultural economics, and food science.
The agreement reinforces TC3’s role in preparing students for careers in New York’s agricultural and life sciences sectors and reflects a broader mission to provide accessible, high-quality education as a SUNY institution.
