A Penn Yan man is in custody after being arrested on a warrant for violating probation.
According to police, 23-year-old Michael Hand Jr. was located by Bath Police and taken into custody on a warrant issued by Penn Yan Village Court. Hand was then turned over to the Penn Yan Police Department.
He was transported to the Yates County Jail, where he is being held pending arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
