The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Lyons man following an investigation into a trespassing incident that took place on August 3rd in the Town of Lyons.
Deputies say a property owner discovered an unknown man asleep inside a vacant home. The suspect fled before deputies arrived, but was later identified as 56-year-old James Yon.
Yon is accused of entering the home and spending the night without permission. He was charged with Criminal Trespass, processed at the Wayne County Jail, and released on an appearance ticket to return to Lyons Town Court at a later date.
However, authorities say Yon also had an active warrant from New York State Parole and was held at the Wayne County Jail on that parole absconder warrant.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
