The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Sodus man following an investigation into a domestic incident involving property damage.
Deputies say 19-year-old Jamar Ortiz was taken into custody after allegedly damaging a door inside a home during a verbal dispute. The incident stemmed from what authorities described as a family trouble call.
Ortiz was located on Newark Street in Sodus and arrested without incident. He is charged with Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree.
Following his arrest, Ortiz was transported to the Wayne County Jail to await centralized arraignment. He’s scheduled to appear in Sodus Town Court at a later date to answer the charge.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
