United Way of Cayuga County’s Eighth Annual Personal Care Drive is underway.
Collection boxes have been set up across the county where people can drop off personal hygiene items to be later donated to shelters, soup kitchens, and food pantries. Items needed include shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwash, dental floss, deodorant, razors, laundry detergent, body wash, hand soap, sanitary napkins, tampons, toilet paper, diapers, dish soap, and facial tissues.

The drive will run through October 13.
United Way hopes to collect 3,000 items during this year’s drive. Last year, the group collected 2,300 items for distribution to 17 county food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters.
